We are seeking a skilled and proactive Cyber Security Engineer to join a large-scale cyber transformation program focused on strengthening and modernising enterprise security capabilities.

About the Role
As a Cyber Security Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering security engineering initiatives across enterprise and cloud environments. You will be responsible for implementing and optimising security technologies, enhancing monitoring capabilities, and supporting the ongoing uplift of cyber security practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Engineer, configure, and maintain security technologies across enterprise and cloud environments.
• Enhance SIEM, EDR, and security monitoring platforms to improve threat detection and response capabilities.
• Develop detection rules, dashboards, and automated response mechanisms to operationalise threat intelligence.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments, analyse findings, and work with technology teams to drive remediation activities.
• Implement and maintain secure cloud configurations across Azure and AWS environments.
• Support security architecture, monitoring, access controls, and data protection initiatives.
• Contribute to incident response activities, investigations, and security hardening programs.
• Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to improve overall cyber security maturity.

About You:

• Experience in Cyber Security Engineering, Security Operations, or a related cyber security discipline.
• Strong understanding of networking, operating systems, and core cyber security principles.
• Hands-on experience with:
• SIEM platforms
• Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR) solutions
• Firewalls
• Vulnerability Management tools
• Cloud-native security technologies
• Knowledge of cloud security practices across Microsoft Azure and/or AWS.
• Experience supporting cyber security incident investigation, response, and remediation.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across both technical and non-technical teams.

Highly Regarded Experience working with or knowledge of:

• ISO 27001
• NIST Cyber Security Framework (NIST CSF)
• ASD Essential Eight
• Security monitoring and threat detection engineering
• Vulnerability management and remediation programs
• Security automation and orchestration
• Critical infrastructure, enterprise, or highly regulated environments
