Fraud Data Analyst – Payments – 12 Month Fixed Term Contract – Perth - Hybrid - $150,000
Tech and Data people are working with a leading company recognised as an employer of choice based in Perth – Hybrid - 3 days per week in CBD Office. We are seeking a Fraud Data Analyst to join on a 12 month fixed-term contract (There is a strong chance that this role will be offered as a permanent role for the right candidate following a successful 12 month FTC). This role will focus on identifying, analysing, and preventing fraudulent activities related to hospital claims and payments. The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams (Up to senior exec level), healthcare providers, and regulatory bodies to detect anomalies, assess risks, and take corrective action.
Key Responsibilities - Monitor and analyse hospital claims data to identify suspicious trends, anomalies, and potential fraud.
- Investigate flagged claims and provider billing practices using data analytics and investigative techniques.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., claims, compliance, legal, and provider relations teams) to address fraud cases.
- Liaise with external regulatory agencies and industry bodies to share insights and best practices.
- Assist in developing fraud prevention strategies, controls, and reporting mechanisms.
- Maintain detailed case documentation and support legal proceedings if required.
- Provide recommendations to improve fraud detection models and enhance payment integrity frameworks.
About You - Proven experience in fraud analysis and investigation.
- Strong knowledge of hospital billing, claims processing, and fraud detection techniques.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools such as SQL, Python, Excel, or fraud analytics software.
- Visualisation experience with Tableau/Power BI
- Ability to interpret complex datasets and identify suspicious patterns.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working in a regulatory or compliance-driven environment is desirable.
