Role: Engineering Manager
Location: Melbourne OR Sydney

As the Engineering Manager, you will provide technical leadership and people management, ensuring the team is set up for ongoing growth and success. You'll be accountable for delivering quality outcomes and solutions that are both innovative in their design and future‑proofed for scalability.
What will you do?
- Define and influence the team culture, engineering practices, and delivery environment.
- Provide technical direction and oversight, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Mentor, coach, and grow engineers through career development plans, performance feedback, and skills enhancement.
- Partner with Product Managers and Designers to prioritise work, balance trade‑offs, and deliver customer‑focused solutions.
- Manage resource planning, hiring, and succession planning to build a resilient engineering team.

- Proven ability to design and deliver multi-platform software using diverse programming environments and tools.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing engineering teams, setting goals, and driving accountability.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, able to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Passion for crafting and delivering high-quality products that meet and exceed customer expectations.
- Experience with budgeting, resource allocation, and project planning in a technology organisation.
- Familiarity with compliance, risk management, and security standards relevant to enterprise software delivery.
Key Skills:
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, C#).
- Solid understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and cloud‑native architectures.
- Familiarity with front‑end frameworks (React, Angular, Vue) and back‑end services (Spring Boot, Node.js).
- Knowledge of databases (SQL and NoSQL), data modelling, and query optimisation.
- Experience with APIs (REST, GraphQL, SOAP) and integration patterns.
- Strong grasp of DevOps practices: CI/CD pipelines, containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Understanding of testing frameworks (JUnit, Jest, Cypress) and quality assurance practices.
