About the Role:
You will be stepping into an existing project, taking over from a departing engineer next week, so an immediate start is key. The focus will be on the Gold Layer of a large scale data platform, working hands on across Databricks, PySpark, and SQL to ensure data quality, performance, and scalability.

What You Will Do:
- Develop, optimise, and maintain data pipelines in Databricks PySpark and SQL
- Work on the Gold Layer to deliver analytics ready datasets
- Collaborate with consultants and client stakeholders to translate requirements into data solutions
- Uphold best practices in data engineering and platform governance
- 8 to 12 years experience in Data Engineering, ideally across consulting or enterprise environments
- Strong technical skills in Databricks, PySpark, and SQL
- Experience with Snowflake or Redshift
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Available immediately or on very short notice
- Work with a respected specialist data consulting firm
- Melbourne based hybrid role
- 6 month initial contract with high likelihood of extension
- Opportunity to work on enterprise scale, cloud first data initiatives
